MOC-45566 908Pcs Venator Class Republic attack cruiser
From The Designer – Red5-Leader
“I love doing midi scale capital ship designs because I like the balance between the amount of detail that is possible on this scale and the space necessary for the internal structure. The added benefit is that it requires less shelf space and is easier on the wallet ;). My favorite part of the Venator are the large amount of engines, the twin bridges and the hangar underneath the ship. I also wanted to include the greebling on the side of the ship. This gives it a lot more texture and makes it nicer to look at. It also adds to the sense of scale of the ship if done correctly in my opinion. I wanted to make sure that the red line on top of the ship had a bit of the wedge shape that the real model has. I also wanted to add a stand that is minimalistic in design and gets the job done. However, I also wanted a solution that made it easy to remove the ship to be able to keep it in your hand so you can more easily see all the angles.
The solution I came up with was to use the gap of the hangar bay and the edge of the back part to act as a slot where the stand would fit in nicely. This makes it easy to remove the ship and put it back on the stand. Finally the horizontal beam of the stand just underneath the belly of the ship makes for an easy grip. Jut put your index finger under the beam and your thumb just in front of the twin bridges to pick the ship and the stand up at simultaneously.”
MOC-54880 700Pcs Battle of Geonsis with LAAT gunship, LAAT dropship and AT-TE
“I remember watching the Battle of Geonosis unfold in Episode II and was amazed by the design of the ships, the chaos and the interesting angles George used to capture the battle. All the LAAT gunships flying into battle, dropping of the Jedi was wonderful to see.
I decided to include Jedi Master Yoda in this scene assisted with a bunch of clones to put the size of the ships a little more in perspective.”
MOC-64662 2131Pcs Executor-Class Super Star-Destroyer
“The Executor; 19 kilometers long, 13 massive engines, 250 heavy turbolasers. Truly an amazing, awe inspiring ship. I wanted to have this in my collection. Unfortunately, the official Lego one is hard to find and really expensive. So I decided to design my own.
This is the largest MOC I’ve done so far coming in at about 73 centimeters in length (28 inches) but it’s still smaller than the official Lego model. This way it’s easier to handle and takes up less shelf space.”
MOC-71412 1614Pcs Hammerhead corvette Lightmaker
“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is one of my favourite Star Wars movies. I am an OT guy so it had all the right vibes in my opinion. The final space battle is fantastic and it features the Lightmaker. A beautifully designed Hammerhead corvette.
It’s brave crew, led by captain Kado Oquoné managed to ram a disabled Star Destroyer into another causing both to crash in the shield gate that protected the planet Scarif, which allowed the ground crew to transmit the plans of the first Death Star, setting the stage for A New Hope.”
MOC-82039 Providence-Class Dreadnought The Invisible Hand
“I previously designed Admiral Trench’s Invincible. I decided to do that one because it’s a 2 kilometer long version of the Providence-class
Dreadnought and it was to scale to my Venator, Acclamator and Arquitens cruisers. But ofcourse I could not resist modding it into General Grievous’s
Invisible Hand. This does mean however that it is not to scale to my other ships anymore since the Invisble Hand was a 1 kilometer long version of the
Providence-class.
The Invisible Hand is recognizable by it’s black bow and yellow stripes.I was able to incorporate them pretty well. I was also able to get the blue and white triangle along the hull of the ship.
The ship itself is really sturdy. You can easily pick it up because without having to worry about it falling apart. The stand is black and simple to really let the ship itself shine.”
